The gift that had more to give.

I have suffered pretty bad anxiety for the last few years and my mother always comments on it. I found this journal in my Christmas stocking this year (thanks Ma, you know me!). I decided this year that my New Year's resolution was to develop a self-care regime that actually works for me and helps reduce my anxiety. I'd been working on it throughout 2016 but really wanted to firm it up throughout 2017. I don't like to journal much, despite knowing research shows it puts you in a better mood. I was trying to choose more positivity because I'm naturally a pessimist. So, I took this small journal and put it beside my bed. Every night for the last month I've written one positive thing. It's sometimes as small as, "my chickpea salad tasted really great today." I've noticed it changes the tone of my mood around completely. I relate to this journal, the pages are bright and welcoming, and the quotes are wonderful. I've noticed as time goes on, I've started writing longer and longer about why I'm grateful..... and I can tell you I'm at the most stressful point in my young career currently. I highly recommend this funny, cute, and happy journal to anyone.

I'm not into journaling but the cover got me (I'm a very anxious person who is rather pessimistic). I'm on day 4 and it is good to take a step back ask ask what positive can I take out of this day for tomorrow. I hasn't cured anything but it does shift the mind a little which is good.
